How to delete pages from a PDF

  1. Add your PDF. Drop it on the box or choose it. Every page is shown as a small preview.
  2. Select the pages to remove. Click them, or type their numbers in Pages to remove. Selected pages get a yellow outline and fade out.
  3. Delete and download. Press Delete pages and download. The bar shows how many pages will be left.

Typing page numbers

The box understands the same ranges people write by hand. Clicking pages fills it in for you, too.

Removing pages before you share a document

People often delete pages to keep something private: a bank statement page with other accounts, the signature page of a contract, or an internal appendix. Because the new file is assembled only from the kept pages, the removed content isn't sitting invisibly inside it, which can happen with tools that just hide pages.

The file also tends to get smaller, since images used only on removed pages are left out. Bookmarks and fillable form fields aren't carried over to the new copy.

Frequently asked questions

Are deleted pages really gone from the file?

Yes. The new PDF is built only from the pages you keep, so the text and images of removed pages aren't hidden inside it. Links that pointed to a removed page are switched off rather than left pointing at it.

Is my original file changed?

No. Your original stays as it is on your device. You download a new copy with -pages-removed added to the name.

How do I select many pages quickly?

Click the first page, then hold Shift and click the last one to select everything in between. Or type ranges in the box, such as 2, 5-7, 10-end.

Can I delete every page?

No. A PDF needs at least one page, so the tool asks you to keep one. To get rid of the whole document, just delete the file.

Is anything uploaded?

No. The PDF is opened, edited and saved by your browser. Nothing leaves your device.
