Signature resizer
Upload a photo or scan of your signature, crop it, clean it up so the ink is dark and the paper pure white or see-through, and resize it to the pixel and KB limits an application form asks for.

How to resize a signature for a form
- Photograph your signature. Sign on plain white paper with a dark pen and take the photo straight from above in good light. A scan works too.
- Crop and clean up. Drag the box around the signature. Clean-up whitens the paper and darkens the ink; adjust the threshold if strokes look faint.
- Set the size and download. Pick the pixel size and KB limit from the form, check the preview on white and on the checkerboard, then download.
What clean-up does
Phone photos of paper are rarely white: the paper is grey or yellow and one side is often darker. The tool first evens out the lighting across the page, then finds the point that best separates ink from paper. Everything lighter becomes pure white, or transparent if you ask for it, and the ink becomes solid, with smooth edges kept so it doesn't look jagged.
Ink colour As scanned keeps your pen's colour. Black and Blue replace it with a clean dark colour, useful when a form asks for one.
Common signature sizes
| Size | Typical use | Shape |
|---|---|---|
| 140 × 60 px | Small signature boxes on exam and job application portals | About 7:3 |
| 300 × 80 px | Forms with a wide signature field | Long and thin |
| 600 × 200 px | Sharper uploads, and signatures to place in documents | 3:1 |
Forms differ, so use the exact width, height and file size printed on yours. Choose Custom for any other pixel size.
Tips
Fill most of the photo with the signature so it keeps detail at small sizes. Some forms also set a minimum, such as 10 to 20 KB; if your file comes out smaller, choose a larger pixel size. Keep JPG when a form lists only JPG or JPEG; use PNG only when transparency is needed and the form accepts it.
Frequently asked questions
How do I get my signature under 20 KB?
Pick the pixel size the form asks for, keep the format as JPG and choose 20 KB. A cleaned-up signature on white compresses very well, so small sizes usually come in far below the limit. The preview shows the exact size and whether it fits.
How do I make a signature with a transparent background?
Leave clean-up on and tick See-through background. The paper becomes transparent and the file is saved as PNG, so you can place it over a document in Word, Google Docs or a PDF editor. The checkerboard preview shows which parts are see-through.
My signature looks faint or broken. What should I change?
Move the threshold slider towards Keep faint strokes. If the paper shows grey patches, move it the other way. Signing with a dark pen and taking the photo in daylight without shadows gives the cleanest result.
Will it stretch my signature to fit 140 × 60?
No. The signature is scaled to fit inside the size you choose and centred, with white or see-through space filling the rest. Trimming the empty space around it first makes the signature as large as possible.
Is my signature uploaded?
No. The image is processed in your browser and never leaves your device, which matters for something as sensitive as a signature.
