Custom QR code generator with logo

Make a QR code that looks like part of your brand: rounded or dot styles, your colours, a logo in the middle and a Scan me frame. Every change is checked live to make sure it still scans.

Building your code…

PNG size

Always test the printed code with two different phones before you print in bulk.

How to design a custom QR code

  1. Add what it should open. Paste a link, type any text, or fill in a Wi-Fi network so guests can join without typing the password.
  2. Pick a style. Start from a preset, then change the dot shape, the corner eyes, the colours and the frame text.
  3. Add your logo. Upload a PNG, JPG or SVG. It sits in a clean box in the middle, and you can make it bigger or smaller.
  4. Check and download. Wait for the green scan check, then download an SVG for print or a PNG for screens.

What keeps a designer QR code scannable

Contrast. Dark dots on a light background work best. Light dots on a dark background look striking but some older phone cameras and apps can't read them. Pale yellows and pastels on white usually fail, even when they look fine to you.

The three eyes. The large squares in three corners tell the phone where the code is. You can round them or turn them into circles, but keep them clearly darker than the background.

A quiet margin. Leave empty space around the code. The standard is four dots wide; tight margins can work on screens but often fail in print next to other graphics.

A sensible logo size. A logo hides part of the pattern. The designer raises error correction automatically, but keep the logo at or below about a quarter of the width.

Ideas for where to use it

UseStyle that works well
Restaurant menu on a table tentBox frame with "MENU", your brand colour, logo in the middle
Business card or flyerRounded dots in your ink colour, no frame, SVG download
Guest Wi-Fi signWi-Fi content, label frame with "JOIN WI-FI"
Instagram or slideDots or fluid style, gradient, PNG at 1024 px
Packaging or product labelClassic square style, high contrast, SVG for the printer

Common problems and fixes

The scan check fails. Darken the dots or lighten the background first. If that doesn't help, shrink the logo, switch eyes back to square, or set the margin to Standard.

The printed code is blurry. Download the SVG instead of a small PNG, and send that to the printer.

The code looks dense. Long links make more dots. Shorter web addresses give bigger, easier-to-scan dots, and so does a lower error correction level when you're not using a logo.

Frequently asked questions

Will a styled QR code still scan?

Usually, yes. Phones look for the three corner eyes and enough contrast between dots and background, and rounded dots or eyes don't change that. The designer reads every version back as you edit it and tells you straight away if a combination stops scanning, so you can adjust before you download.

How big can my logo be?

Up to about 30% of the code's width. When you add a logo the designer switches to the highest error correction level, which lets a QR code lose roughly 30% of its data and still be read. Around 20 to 22% is a comfortable size for most logos.

Do these QR codes expire?

No. The link or text is stored in the pattern itself, not on a server, so the code works for as long as the link it points to does. There's no account, no tracking redirect and nothing to renew.

Should I download SVG or PNG?

Use SVG for print, signs and design tools like Canva, Figma or Illustrator: it stays sharp at any size. Use PNG for websites, slides, email and social posts. For print, choose 2048 px if you must use PNG.

How small can I print it?

A common rule is to make the code at least one tenth of the scanning distance, and never smaller than about 2 cm (0.8 in) across. A code on a table tent read from 30 cm away works at 3 cm; a poster read from 3 m needs about 30 cm.

Is my logo uploaded?

No. The logo is read and resized in your browser and placed into the QR code on your device. Nothing you design is sent anywhere.
