How to reorder pages in a PDF

  1. Add your PDF. Drop it on the box or choose it. All pages appear as previews in their current order.
  2. Move pages. Drag a page by the handle under it, or use the left and right arrows. The grid reads left to right, top to bottom, like a book.
  3. Download. Press Download reordered PDF. The new file has -reordered added to its name; your original isn't changed.

Keeping track of pages

The number under each preview is the page's number in the original file, so it travels with the page as you move it. A document whose pages read 1, 2, 3 in order is back where it started. If things get muddled, Start over restores the original order, and Reverse order flips the whole document, which is handy for scans fed into the scanner back to front.

Links that jump between pages keep working in the new order. Bookmarks and fillable form fields aren't carried over.

Frequently asked questions

How do I move a page on a phone?

Press and hold the dotted handle under the page, then drag it to its new place. The page list scrolls when you reach the top or bottom of the screen. You can also tap the left and right arrows to move a page one place at a time.

Can I reorder pages with the keyboard?

Yes. Tab to a page's handle and use the arrow keys to move it one place, or Home and End to send it to the start or end. The arrow buttons under each page work with Enter too.

What does duplicate do?

It adds a copy of the page right after it. That's useful for a form you need twice, or a cover sheet you want at the start of several sections. Copies share the page's images, so the file barely grows.

Does reordering change the quality?

No. Pages are copied as they are into the new order. Text stays selectable and images aren't recompressed.

Is my PDF uploaded?

No. Everything happens in this browser tab. Your file is never sent anywhere.
