How to preview Markdown online
- Paste or type Markdown. The preview updates as you type. On a phone, switch between Markdown and Preview with the tabs above the editor.
- Pick a view. Write shows only the editor, Split shows both side by side, Preview shows only the result. Full screen hides the rest of the page.

The example is a short planning note of the kind an assistant writes: headings, a checklist, a budget table with right-aligned numbers, a growth formula written with ChatGPT's \[ \] delimiters, a Gantt chart in Mermaid, a JavaScript snippet and a footnote. Common problems and fixes

| "This Mermaid diagram has an error" | The message names the line. Check the first word (flowchart, sequenceDiagram, gantt) and quote labels with brackets. |
| Pasted answer has no formatting | Use the assistant's own copy button, which copies Markdown, rather than selecting the text. |
| A list continues when you don't want it to | Press Enter on the empty item to end the list. Shift+Enter adds a plain line break. |
Frequently asked questions
Is my document uploaded anywhere?
No. The Markdown is turned into a preview by code running in your browser, and the draft is kept in your browser's storage on this device so it survives a reload. Nothing is sent to a server. You can delete the saved draft with one click under the editor.
How do I paste a ChatGPT or Claude answer?
Use the copy button under the answer and paste into the editor: you get the original Markdown. If you select the answer with the mouse and copy it instead, the clipboard holds formatted text; the editor turns that back into Markdown and offers to paste it as plain text if you'd rather. Maths written with \[ \] and \( \) delimiters is shown as formulas.
How do I get a ChatGPT table into Word or Google Docs?
Paste the answer here, then press Copy as rich text and paste into Word, Google Docs, Outlook or Gmail. Tables arrive as real tables with borders, code keeps a monospace font and Mermaid diagrams become images. If you need the table in a spreadsheet, use Markdown table to Excel instead.
Why don't images from the web show up?
Loading an image from another site tells that site your IP address, so images linked from the web are held back until you press Show images. Images embedded in the document as data URLs show straight away.
Is raw HTML in Markdown allowed?
Yes, simple HTML such as <details>, <kbd>, <sup> or a <table> works. Anything that could run code, such as <script>, onclick or javascript: links, is removed before the preview is drawn, so a pasted document can't do anything on this page.
Which Markdown flavour does it use?
GitHub-flavoured Markdown: tables, task lists, strikethrough, autolinks and fenced code blocks, plus footnotes, LaTeX maths with KaTeX and Mermaid diagrams. Headings get ids, so links like [see below](#budget) jump within the preview.
