How to convert JPG to PDF

  1. Add your images. Drop them on the box, choose them, or paste a screenshot with Ctrl+V. JPG, PNG, WebP and most other formats your browser can open will work.
  2. Put them in order. Each image becomes one page, top of the list first. Drag the handle or use the arrows to reorder.
  3. Choose the page layout. Pick A4, Letter or Fit to image, the orientation, and a margin.
  4. Convert. Press Convert to PDF and the file downloads.

Page size, orientation and margins

On A4 and Letter pages, each image is scaled to fill the space inside the margins without being cropped or stretched, and centred. With Auto orientation, a wide image gets a landscape page and a tall one a portrait page, so nothing ends up tiny in the middle of the sheet.

A4210 × 297 mm

Large margin25 mm on each side

Tips for scanning documents with a phone

Photograph each page flat, in daylight, from straight above, and fill the frame with the paper. Choose A4 or Letter with a small margin so the PDF prints like the original document. A margin also stops printers cutting off the edges.

For an application that wants one file with several documents, convert the photos here, then add other PDFs with Merge PDF. To get images back out of a PDF, use PDF to JPG.

Frequently asked questions

Does converting to PDF reduce photo quality?

Not for JPG and PNG files: they're placed in the PDF exactly as they are, pixel for pixel. Other formats, such as WebP, are redrawn and saved inside the PDF as high-quality JPEG, or as PNG for GIF and BMP graphics.

Why was my phone photo sideways in other converters?

Phones often save photos sideways and add a note saying which way is up. Many converters ignore that note. This one reads it, so portrait photos come out portrait.

Which page size should I choose?

A4 is standard in most of the world and Letter in the US and Canada; pick the one your printer or form expects. Fit to image makes each page exactly the size of its photo, which looks best on screen but prints at odd sizes.

Are my photos uploaded?

No. The PDF is built in your browser on your device. Your images aren't sent anywhere.

Can I add iPhone HEIC photos?

In Safari on an iPhone or Mac, yes, because Safari can open HEIC. Other browsers can't read HEIC yet; convert them with HEIC to JPG first, or set the camera to Most Compatible.

The PDF is too big to email. What can I do?

Large phone photos make large PDFs. Run the finished PDF through Compress PDF, or shrink the photos first with Compress image.
