How the date of Eid al-Adha is set
Eid al-Adha falls on the 10th of Dhu al-Hijjah, the twelfth month of the Islamic calendar, the day after the Day of Arafah during the Hajj pilgrimage.
The month begins with the sighting of the new moon, so the date is confirmed about ten days ahead. The dates here follow the Umm al-Qura calendar of Saudi Arabia; some countries mark Eid a day later after their own moon sighting.
Eid al-Adha comes about 11 days earlier each year, like every date in the Islamic calendar.

The days count is calendar days: tomorrow is 1 day away. The clock counts real time to midnight at the start of Eid al-Adha, so with Eid al-Adha two days away it shows 1 day and some hours. Both are right; they answer slightly different questions.
