Who needs a 100 KB image
100 KB is the most common upload limit on the web. Bank and government portals, job sites, school systems and many support forms use it. At 100 KB a photo looks clean on any screen, and documents stay readable.
For a typical phone photo the tool mostly lowers the quality setting and only trims the dimensions a little. The result is usually 1000 to 1600 pixels wide.
Typical dimensions at 100 KB
Rough pixel sizes that fit under 100 KB while still looking good. Busy, detailed photos come out smaller.
| Image | Fits at about |
|---|---|
| Profile or ID photo | 800 × 800 px or more |
| Document scan (A4) | around 1000 × 1400 px |
| Product or listing photo | around 1200 × 900 px |
Tips for a sharper result
Screenshots and scans with lots of text often look better as PNG at small sizes, but PNG can't be squeezed to an exact limit. Keep the format on Automatic and check the result with Compare. If edges around text look fuzzy, try WebP if the site accepts it.
Uploading a multi-page document? Combine the pages into one PDF with JPG to PDF instead, if the form takes PDFs.

Frequently asked questions
Will the result be exactly 100 KB?
It will be just under, usually 92 to 99 KB. Landing slightly below means the file is accepted whether the site counts 1 KB as 1,000 or 1,024 bytes.
My photo is already 150 KB. Will it lose a lot of quality?
No. Going from 150 KB to 100 KB is a small step, so the tool only lowers the quality slightly and keeps the dimensions. Use Compare to see the difference before downloading.
Does this work for PNG screenshots?
Yes. The screenshot is converted to JPG (or WebP if it has transparent areas) so it can fit the limit. Text stays readable at 100 KB in most cases.
